Generate ssh Keys – Github

configure git for the first time
git config –global “Yourname”
git config –global “”

generate a local key
ssh-keygen -t rsa -C “”

run ssh agent in background
ssh-agent -s

Change file permissions for id_rsa file
chgrp Users ~/.ssh/id_rsa
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/id_rsa

test the ssh connection
ssh -T
